TruColors Tattoo

Welcome friends!

To a place where nostalgia meets bold expression.

I'm Tru, a queer, nonbinary tattoo artist turning childhood memories and inner healing into vibrant, wearable art. My work is rooted in the bold colors and pop culture of the '80s, '90s, and early 2000s—cartoons, toys, movies, music—anything that speaks to your inner child. Every piece I create is personal, playful, and unapologetically authentic. Whether you're reclaiming your story or just want a rad reminder of who you are, I'm here to help you wear it with pride.

So you’re looking for a tattoo…here’s what I do!

  • Made just for you, by me.

Custom tattoos are one-of-a-kind pieces designed specifically for you and your story. Maybe it’s your favorite childhood snack, a character you quoted with your sibling growing up, or something that makes your inner kid feel seen and powerful. We’ll chat, vibe, and dream it up together—then I’ll turn that energy into a design that’s yours alone. It’s a little like magic, but with a machine and some ink.

  • Ready-made nostalgia hits.

Flash tattoos are pre-drawn designs that are ready to go—just pick your fave, and we’ll get to it. These are curated from my brain’s treasure chest of retro cartoons, early 2000s chaos, and weird snacks you thought only you remembered. They’re punchy, fun, and perfect if you want a quick shot of serotonin on your skin.

about Tru

Hey guys, I’m Tru (they/them), a 38-year-old proud autistic millennial tattoo artist born in Las Vegas, raised in Phoenix, and now rooted in Seattle for the past 9 years. I live and work alongside my partner, Tash—we share a home full of love, art, and a small animal kingdom that includes our dog Norman, cat Maui, two snakes, and five fish. Together we’ve built a space that’s safe, affirming, and creative—a space where people can feel free to be exactly who they are.

I’ve been tattooing for almost three years, creating bold, nostalgic pieces driven by connection and identity—pulling from the vibrant colors and iconic imagery of pop culture from the '80s, '90s, and early 2000s. I specialize in vibrant designs that speak to your inner child—cartoons, toys, movies, music, and memories that shaped us. For me, tattooing is about storytelling, healing, and helping people reconnect with who they are and where they came from. Honoring the parts of ourselves we’ve carried through the years. I’m here to help you wear those moments with pride through color and creativity.

As a queer, nonbinary, transmasc artist, tattooing is more than art for me—it’s a form of healing and reclamation. It’s about helping people find themselves, honor their joy, and feel seen in their skin. I work in full color because I believe in showing up fully, loudly, and with pride. But I also have a deep love for black and grey—its softness, contrast, and emotional depth. I enjoy playing with texture, blending bold color with delicate dotwork and smooth black and grey to create dynamic, layered pieces that celebrate complexity and individuality.

Thanks so much for taking the time to explore my work—it truly means a lot. If you’re not already following, come hang out with me on Instagram for updates, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and a steady stream of nostalgic, nerdy goodness. I’d love to connect and create something awesome together!
